About
My name is Nick Schmidt. I swam at Eastern Illinois University where I earned an accounting & MBA degree. After graduation in 2005, I did the normal thing and moved into an accounting job.
I am an accountant by day and a video blogger (vlogger) by night. As you can see I am not your average accountant. Plus, I’m constantly looking for new projects and continuing the Entrepreneur lifestyle.
This website is of a more personal website. My videos express my creativity and life passions. At the same time attempting to entertain you.
In addition to entertaining you have developed more of a techie website on the side called, “Another side of Nick Schmidt (aka. Schmult)”. This website is for me to share and interact with you on topics that I’m passionate about. Like: Social media, tech news, fashion, consulting, music, marketing/advertising, gadgets, video blogging, photography, creativity, positivity, entrepreneurship, movies, and more.
Don’t be shy, send me an email to Schmult (at) gmail {dot} com
About this website
It began as a blog, with long, drawn-out text posts to keep me in touch with friends. In May 2005, I discovered vlogging and began video-taping random thoughts with my digital camera. Hence the title of the vlog, What’s Goin’ On?. Other people started to notice the vlog, then the number of subscribers to the website has increased.
How I got the name Schmult
Schmult is a nickname that I gained while I was in college. As already stated, I attended Eastern Illinois University on a swimming scholarship. It is customary for the heat sheets at swim meets to list all participating swimmers in the competitions. During one of EIU’s swim meets, my last name was misspelled on the heat sheet. My last name was listed as “Schmult” instead of “Schmidt”. My friends saw my name misspelled on the heat sheet, thus the name “Schmult” has stuck with me over the years, in addition to a number of other nicknames.
Consulting
Throughout all my experiences I have been able to develop consulting services for:
Video Editing, Video Production, Accounting, Marketing, Advertising, Social Networks, and Music Production. If you are interest too, please feel free to contact me at :

Key Highlights:
Articles
I have been recognized by MTV and VH1 after my article in the Wall Street Journal. I was featured in the Wall Street Journal (10/3/06 section D1 “Virtual Reality TV”) after placing 2nd in the America’s Dream Date” competition by Gofish.com. Which allowed me to win a trip to Las Vegas, where I attended the Billboard Music Awards. I covered video footage backstage with the creator of Techiediva.com, Gina Hughes. I have been an editor for Techiediva since April 2006. Techiediva.com was selected by PC Magazine as one of the top 100 websites in 2006.
Speaking Engagements
All of my experiences have provided me the ability to be involved in various technological projects. I have spoken at the downtown Chicago Apple Store on various occasions and I am currently teaching video blogging at the local Apple Store on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.
I have also have participated at the three-day panel of the Art Institute of Chicago campus for the Motion Graphics Festival. Due to the increasing usage of video in consumer product marketing, I had the opportunity to be a guest for the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association’s (CIMA) “User Generated Content” panel, which also included the V.P. of Edelman, V.P. of Myspace.com, and the CEO of Blogger and Feedburner.

I’m a former radio broadcaster who built her own studio to broadcast from! By the way, I’d vote for you for Sexiest Geek ‘07. I thought the same thing…why not a “guy” category??
